Poly fest

Yesterday morning,Team five(Year 7&8) went to the ASB polyfest. We went to polyfest to celebrate the 40th anniversary. I think we went there to celebrate and share each others cultures. What I found interesting is when we went to one of the stands, they were talking about AUT(Auckland, university of technology).

AUT, aut is a university for people who like using computers and 3d printer. They make all sorts of of games. They have oculis rift,if you don't know what it is,its glasses that make you see in the game, while you're creating the game, here a example. Imagine that you're in a game, any game like,Pac man ,when you wear those glasses you can see the ghost chasing you,and you can see yourself eating the fruit and those circle yellow dots.

3D printers. They make all sorts of things. Like for fathers day presents, you can make 3d tools they showed us one yesterday,It looked like a actual tool,it was a spanner. They make it like real metal but really its not. And they make these parts for cars and all sorts off\\her things.

I really enjoy that stand because I learnt heaps and it made me think about how much things they learn and they have fun.

POly fest

Kia Ora, talofa lava, malo e lelei, faakalofa lahi atu, kia orana, bula vinaka, namaste and greetings!! My Name is Marama, It’s Pasifika week in Aotearoa, this means it’s a week long celebration of all things Pacific.  This includes the birthday dance we had with Mrs Tele’a!  Part of the celebration is the Polyfest!  This Thursday we are planning to travel to Manukau to take part in some workshops and then visit stages.  The two stages we will be visiting will be the Maori and Diversity stages.  Did you know that this event - the Polyfest celebrates 40 years since it’s beginning?  Awesome isn’t it!

I think that young people from high school and college
participate because there showing their family, friends and the world, that they can represent their culture and where they came from. And make their family proud of them.

  • Practise lots of times
  • Making  mistakes
  • Getting told off
  • Changing moves well learning

Too promote other to learn other peoples cultures, respect each other and Maybe learn how too dance like them and maybe learn how too speak their language. And encourage them too join in.

I am looking forward to go to the polyfest too see my culture performing, and seeing other people perform,I like how they dance and sing.
