What I do differently now is writing on a google doc because normally I write with paper and pencil

I think about my learning is sometimes really good but sometimes I think differently.

2012 has really surprised me how we learn on mathwizz and xtramath.

What would I have enjoyed doing more this year is doing math every single day.


My goals for 2013 is trying my best at everything I do.

How has having a netbook/online learning helped you it has helped me because if you want to learn something you just have to look it up instead of looking through books or asking our teacher.


What has been the best thing about being a year 5 is you get to learn how to used a netbook.

Swimming

Thank-you Chris and Watersafe Auckland for letting Pt England School to use the pool once a week.Mr Garth Jacobsen and Mr Malloy has been taking care of the pool.Mr Jacobsen always locks it up and Mr Malloy cleans up sametimes.


We had so much fun we learnt water safety,how to float,treating water,life jackets,raft building,waves and whirlpool.My class goes every Wednesday.

Minster of Education

As a student at Pt England school I will like to thank Mrs Burt. There are so many ways to learn . Blogger,our netbooks and our google drives. We use our net books to learn, create and share.


Yesterday the Minister of  Education, Hekia Parata ,came to Pt England School. She came to our school to plan our future with Manaiakalani and our netbooks.Thank you mum for signing up for my netbook.

Our Panasonic Prize

One Friday morning a man from a company called  Panasonic come to my school.His name is Paul he came  to our school to present a prize. We are getting a prize because three of the people in my class made a storyboard and sent in to them. Our prize was a video camera,memory card,microphone and 3 rugby balls. Every thing that the prizes were Panasonic.

Room 13 worked really hard to win the competition. Every one in my class would like to say thank you to everybody that works with Panasonic and Paul.

Running at the Olympic Games

Before the race in the stadium I was waiting patiently for the man to introduces all of the athletes.Thinking in my head that I will try to do my best.My goals that I want to do during the race that It does not matter if I come last.But if I came last my country will be disappointed. I was worried that I will come last so I  try to bet all of the other athletes.

When the race started I fall over on the first hurdle. I was disappointed that I didn't go feather but at less I did my hardest.My Achilles tendon is really really hurt.Siting for many minutes I stood up and hoped to the tunnel and one of the camera men said to me that I can not go into the tunnel because that's were the athletes walk on the track.

Hi my name is Marama. I really enjoyed this picture because my nana was in it and Azonto is one of my 3 favourite songs. My nana is the one that is wearing the Bob Marley hat. Walking into Hoyts Cinemas I felt happy.  I sat down and relaxed then Giselle and Asena sat next to me. Suddenly Mr Burt told us when the presenters talk don’t shout out their names. The first movie we watched was One Direction. One Direction is really funny,cool and good.

The scary doll story

Dancing in the snow like a ballerina Loop to loop to Loop and spinning like a spinning top, I almost fell over.

The town was empty and quiet. While dancing, I saw a big black chalk board. I picked up the chalk and wrote my name. Neatly writing Alma on the board, I heard  a squeaking noise. I turned around and there was a doll. It looked just like me. It was wearing the same Gloves, Vest, T-Shirt, Pants and Shoes as me.

Looking In the store I looked at my reflection - or was it? I looked down to remove the snow from my shoes. I then looked back up through the window and the doll had disappeared.
Walking towards the door I kept looking for the doll. I spotted it. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I made a snowball and threw it at the door.

As I started to walk home the door opened. Peeking around the door, I walked in. I saw lots of dolls. Some were creepy.
I saw the doll that looked just  like me. Nearly reaching my doll, I stepped on a toy. It was a doll boy on a bike. I turned it around and it  went straight to the door and the door SLAMMED. The doll  was riding into the door. It was trying to escape.

The doll that looked  just like me disappeared off the table. (BUFF)I saw the doll and it was on top of the drawers. I reached out and  I touched the face of the doll and.......(buff ) (bang). I had turned into a doll.
Nothing I could do, just look around. I think the other dolls were trying to warn me. Then I heard a strange noise. I saw a doll coming up from the basement below, it looked just like my sister.

narrative story

At Pt England beach I, Marama and my friends were really hot.I was sitting in the sand while my friends were picking up shells.The water was high tide.


We were having so much fun until I had stayed on the sand for too long and had gotten sunburned. It was so sore that if I touched it I might have cried.Jumping into the water,och!!!!!! I screamed on the top of my lungs.I thought my sunburnt might not hurt it was really sore I didn’t think that if I jumped in the water it wouldn’t hurt.


Me and my friends were running as fast as we can like the gingerbread man. Off the rock onto the sand until Something impossible happened next. A shark jumped out of nowhere and took one of my friends. I was screaming really loud the birds that was at the beach flew away.


We were running to the sand and my friend slipped into the water. She screamed so I  ran to pull her up and a sea monster pulled her back.I jumped into the water to try save her but I got swallowed too but I tickled from the inside and the sea monster vomit us both out.

Taking my ninja brother trick or treating around the neighborhood we had our bucket filled up with lollies. I was dressed as a clown. Walking home my brother said ”Can we eat the lollies now?” “No!” I shouted “they’re my lollies.” ”NO they aren't” my brother shouted madly” So I punched my brother and he ran off and told mum.

Barsketball

BASKETBALL is cool there where two men who tort us how to play basketball.My favrite part
was when they tort us how to play golden child.Golden child is when there are two teams.One team shooting the ball in the hoop and the other team is running around one at a time.I think that game is cool.For real I hate basketball but this year was fun but not all the time.It was fun this year for basketball.



It was hard when I tried to dribble because I'm not used to basket ball.
For real I really hate basketball but this year it was fun i really enjoyed it.It was really fun.I had fun dribbing around the cones but sometimes when I tried to shoot I missed and when I play for real with my class I miss all the time.

Farewell mrs verry

Farewell to our dear Mrs Verry from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Walking into the hall feeling sad but I did not show it.Looking at Mrs Verry she is the queen of bling.She was wearing a pretty bracelet  and a pretty necklace.Her hair was straten.Some of girls were doing a perform a Samoan dance for our pretty Mrs Verry.


Before the girls did the samoan dance some of the girls did a spect in samoan.I did not understand it but I knew it was special to mrs verry.The girl’s started the ance it was wonderful there was a girl Jorden she’s in class she was good at that dance well that’s want I think.



Then the junior pomona was doing a dance to it  was good for there age.I liked how anahera used her loudness voice on the song for

50 words

In the paralympics Richard Whitehead  won the 100m run and got a sparkly gold medal. Richard is proud of himself winning. He is happy because he’s in the middle of the track raising his arms up high,  while swinging  his flag above his head and proudly jumping in the air.

Do you know what  a putta boom boom is? Its Tommy wilson ferrari cool name for it do you think.If you went to the hall  on friday what was your favorite thing what Tommy wilson exclaimed.My one was the putta boom boom and bro and mate I will tell you about bro and mate.


Tommy Wilson lived with the price for a while and he had to call the price your hines.After two weeks the price said to Tommy Wilson the you can call me bro and  tommy said ok.Then a week went past tommy you can call me mate.

Aldora’s Cross Country Recount

Today we practice a piece of  writing.The first paragraph is Adoras and the second is mine.

I had fun running the whole track with my friends. It was awesome, and most of all it’s fun hearing about your friends achieving their goals. It was an amazing day.


As I looked back on the day I’d had cross country I was filled with happiness.I had enjoyed hearing that my friends achieved their goals.Wow, what an amazing experience.The cross country had turned out to be fun.Did you achieve your goal in cross country?

Liu Xiang

The Olympic torch

The Olympic flame started in ancient Olympia, Greece.The flame is ignited by the sun, the torch burns until the closing of the games.

In Olympia there  is a curved mirror. The sun reflects on the mirror, ladies wearing  white ancient-style  robes ignite the torch  in the mirror. The torch is then passed from runner to runner as it travels from Olympia to the host city.

The most important event at the opening ceremony is the lighting of the torch.It burns for two weeks until the games have  finished.

This term my school is  learning about olympics.My favourite olympic sport is sprinting because I love my running.My favourite person for sprinting is the fastest runner in the world his name is Jesse Owens.

The Pt England art gallery

When we were walking around it was so hard to pick a  favourite artwork first I looked at the flowers.When I went around the corner I said in my head this is like a maze and it is dark.Then I carried on walking and then I saw a picture I really like.


My favourite class artwork is  room 20 and my person I picked for my favourite art is kaiden.I like kaiden's art because it has the junior park and it looks real.I think it is interesting because he has a horse in his artwork.The horse is dressed in a cowboy suit.I think kaiden's artwork is cool because the horse is holding a gun.

I like the movies that was on the imac because it had my class movie the flower tissue  paper.
I liked the movie pictures that were on the board.I liked the junior art work of the tigers and shorts of other animals.

catching a snowflake on my tongue feels like my mouth was frozen. Sprinkling over the ground snowflake transformed the landscape .the snow is so cold.

Skidding and sliding  the car`s slipped.broken trees and power cuts made the schools stopped for the day.Plunging temperatures the windows have ice on it.

how pigasso mets motisee

Once there was two animals that were called Motisse and Pigasso they were very good artist and they can paint animal bodies.Motisse can paint big bold pictures.pigasso paints with shapes and lines.When the art students  art sellers saw motisse and pigasso pictures they wanted it.They were very excited  about his art work.They were so excited that they were arguing about how can have the pictures.

When motisse moved he was facing west and his front neighbour was facing east.He went to  introduce himself  to his neighbour and his neighbour came outside and introduce himself.

They wanted to get to know each other so they ended up to be really good neighbours.One day they went to a park together and painted suddenly Mootisse made front of picasso painting.Then they did not want to be friends. so they both went home and painted suddenly pigasso missed mootisse.Mootisse notesd that he missed pigasso.
but they did not know what to say so they went outside and build a gate in the middle of the street.And then they painted on each side.then they ran over to each others and had a look and then they became friends again.two months later a museum brought the gate. the end

My Kandinsky Presentation

Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky was born December 16 1866 in Moscow, Russia.
His mother was a homemaker and his father a tea merchant.



From an early age Wassily Kandinsky exhibited a special gift called synaesthesia cognate. This gift gave him the ability to see sound and hear colour.


Kandinsky studied Economics and law at the University of  Moscow before he became a professor. 3 years later at the of 30 in Munich, Germany Kandinsky studied art. Initially he got interested in creating sketches of human bodies.

Penguins

    

People were in a boat filing penguins while there doing tricks.
The penguins jumped off the icy hill and went into the water.One of them jumped up into the air and landed on the hill.Two penguins jumped out of the water and span around.Heaps of penguins just went into the air and flipped over.

My Multiplication Story

There are 4 blueberry pies.

each pie has 6 berries on top-how many berries are there altogether?  4x6=24

Melted Crayon

Starting the 2nd term with an art activity was fun!!!!!! I hope we get to do it again.

First we put the crayons in order for Jordenne to put hot glue on them and stick it on the cardboard. Quickly I got a stencil that had the word create on it. My group agreed on the word create I put the stencil on the canvas and painted it carefully.

My favourite part was when we melted the crayon because when we finish melting the crayon it looked like a rainbow and the texture was all bumpy.Our artwork looked like coloured rain.

How the Moon was Invented.

 There was a megwa that was so fast it was zooming every were.Then it was slowing down it got cold and it stade in one spot.Then astroids were floting that it hit the moon and made holes and same stade there it was a size as like a baseball center.When astorids zoomed to when they hit the moon here will be little exsloshens.

New Furniture

Surprise of all surprises Room13s new furniture arrived on time! Sitting at our flash new table and relaxing on our “steps’’is heaps of fun.thank to Mr Burt and Mr J for getting our new furniture.

Candy Dragon

n a busy market on old chaines man made a lollipop  out of melted sugar.
Dripping the caramel on the non-stick paper he drew a pattern of a dragon. Carefully he peeled the candy dragon off the paper and gave it to a little boy.

My Learning Tree

We made it de these trees to demonstrate what  it means to be a great leaner.
I chose the word understand because I understand most of the things.

Cricket

Throwing the ball across the field same body caught it.

Out side of our classroom we were learning how to play Cricket.


Powerfully group 1 caught the cricket ball as i hit it.

Beach Story

Over the hot sand, I saw seagulls flying. Running into the water, I smashed two sandcastles covered in shells. Ouch!!!!!!Where were those birds flying to?

The Duffy Show

Walking to the hall yesterday for the Duffy Show, I couldn’t wait to see what this play would be about.  All through the show I laughed. My favourite bit was when Scruffy pretended to be friends with Piri Weepu. He was so funny that I almost had tears running down my face. The message of the show was to make sure that you always read everyday.

My Holiday

In the holiday I went to mission bay to have a bqq. When I got out the truck i went to get dreesed in to my togs.When I got out of the dreesing room sprentd to the big waves and then my mum called me for same bqq.
